Bucharest City Authority, Romania - Noise Mapping of Bucharest (2006).

Technical advice to a project to comply with END and the Romanian Noise Regulations, for road, rail, industry and aircraft noise sources for the City Authority. Program includes data acquisition, multi-source noise model development and noise monitoring to support map validation.

Environment and Heritage Service Northern Ireland – Scoping, Feasibility and Pilot Study into the Implementation of the Environmental Noise Directive (2004-5).

Mapping requirements were developed and data options assessed against these requirements. The feasibility of options and associated costs were considered to define a feasible approach to mapping all sources required by END.  A 49km2 test pilot test model was built which included primary modelling of road, rail and industry sources and liaison with Belfast City Airport to a mapping and data transfer protocol. A combined noise source map was produced from the 4 separate noise sources.

Good Practice Guide Industry Mapping Feasibility Study (2004).

This study investigated alternative methods and the costs of mapping industrial noise on a cost effective basis using the tools set out in the WG-AEN’s Good Practice Guide.  Various feasible options were identified and costed.

Defra – Noise Mapping England Roads: Manchester, Liverpool and The Potteries (2005).

Acting as a technical consultant to 2 commercial consultancies on 3 major noise mapping projects, advice was provided to ensure all 3 projects were delivered to time, budget and specification.

Defra/EU – Research Project NANR93: WGAEN’s Good Practice Guide and the Implications for Acoustic Accuracy (2005).

Development of new 7 new toolkits for inclusion in the WG-AEN’s GPG version 2.  Accuracy Statements were quantified for the 7 new toolkits and 6 of the GPG version 1 toolkits when using the NMPB Interim and CRTN methods of assessment.
